In third grade I remember I had 3 different teachers - I only remember the second one as she was only our teacher for about a month and her name was weird - Spigerelli I think. Anyway, she handed out all sorts of creative writing papers with ideas on them to get us started. Since this "blog" is starting out as a journal of my previous writings, I'm going to write down some of the more interesting ones.
Talking to Someone Special
My grandmother lived near the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Tx. Many of the people in her neighborhood worked there and some were either retired or aspiring astronauts. I met one, by the name of Don Lind, who took us on a tour of the Space Center - we got to go in places where more tour groups can't. I remember watching some astronauts practicing working under zero-gravity conditions: they were wearing space suits and in a very large pool. My response to this creative writing exercise was obviously influenced by that visit. Mr. Lind did eventually go in to space. I remember my grandmother telling me they had problems with the waste disposal unit for the monkeys? (I was young, I may not have heard right.)
Don Lind and Me
I would like to interview Don Lind, an astronaut who is going up on the next Apollo, if they could ever get it up. I chose this person because I have already met him in Houston, Texas. He is famous because he is an astronaut trainer. I have seen him in Houston, Texas. The first question I would ask him is "Why did you choose to become an astronaut?" Another important question I would ask is "Do you like being an astronaut?" Then I would ask him "Mr. Don Lind, will you autograph this picture for me please?"
If You Were on Television
Not much background on this one - except I don't like dresses any more.
Three Two One Contact
If I could be on T.V., I would like to be on Three Two One Contact. I would choose that show because it is one of my favorite shows. I would wear a dress. The best thing about being on T.V. is I get to meet the people on Three Two One Contact. There isn't anything I wouldn't like about being on T.V. When I sign autographs I would write "To my friend so-n-so from Kayleen." I would answer fan mail by writing to my fans. THE END!
You are the Teacher
For a while I actually considered being a teacher. I can explain things in an understandable manner, and when I was a TA in college, my students told me that I was very helpful and things made perfect sense. But I was destined for a different career. I think I made a good choice.
All About the Teacher
I am a teacher and I teach third grade. There are twenty-six students in my class. I don't give a lot of homework but I do give some. I do not allow students to sit where they choose. Our most important class rule is listen to the teacher. When a student breaks this rule they have to put their head down. My favorite subject is: Math.
Your Dream Home
I was a WonderWoman fan and liked swimming.
On Paradise Island
If I had a dream house and if I could have it where ever I wanted it, I would have it on Paradise Island. It is located very close to the ocean. My house is a two story house. In my house there are thirty rooms, fifteen roms on each floor. I have two swimming pools at my house. The best thing about my house is you can go swimming every day. My favorite room in the house is the swimming pool room.
