Stories from Third Grade

We had a Halloween themed Creative Writing section - I know because I found three Halloween pictures with stories written on the back of them.


The picture with this one showed a witch and a cauldron with four dresses floating in the smoke above it.
The Witch Turned Young (Oct 11, 1982)
Once upon a time there was an old ugly witch who wanted to become a beautiful teenager. So she made a special brew to turn herself into the most beautiful and smartest teenager in Orem Jr. High. So in the brew she put in an old costume of ballerina.

Out flew four beautiful clothes!

Then she made another brew to make herself beautiful and then she drank up the brew and changed her clothes and brushed her hair and went to school.

She learned a lot in school but she wasn't very smart but she soon got smarter until she was as smart as the teacher. And by then she was very pretty. And all the boys asked her out on dates and soon she got married and had kids.

Halloween Night (October 1982)
Once upon a time there was a pumpkin named Tom, and he wanted to get picked for a jackolantern.

So he rolled to the wise pumpkin (he had already fallen off the stem) and he asked wise pumpkin what to do and wise pumpkin said: you were chosen to be the Great Pumpkin for Halloween night and you will have a jack-o-lantern's face carved in you. And on Halloween Tom did raise up and he did have a jack-o-lantern's face. The End

The Ugly Monster (1982)
Once upon a time ther was a pretty monster named Sally and she wanted to become ugly just for Halloween, but not for ever.

So Sally went to a witch to ask Suzy the witch for advice and Suzy said that she would help her, and Suzy gave her a note and it said: On Hallowee Night Come To My House at 3:00 PM And I Will Change You Into An Ugly Person But I Must Warn You At The Stroke Of Midnight The Spell Will Be Broken.

So when it was 3:00 PM Sally went to Suzy's house to get changed into the ugliest person in the world and then she went out trick or treating.
